Checking an updated Frontastic component schema

As this is a developer test, this should only be done within your development systems. You'll have to add the schema to the Frontastic studioFrontastic studio - The interface you use to manage, build, and edit all areas of your project and commerce sites. Previously known as `backstage`. if you want to add it to the Staging or Production environments.

  1. Update to your Frontastic component schema in a JSON file as you normally would while making sure it's Backwards Compatible (see this article for more info).

  2. Save the new version of your Frontastic component schema as: $project/config/tasticSchemaOverwrites/$tasticName.json where $project is the name of your project and $tasticName is the name of the Frontastic component you're editing.

Only JSON files will be processed in this folder so they must be in this format.

  1. Your configuration will now override the already existing Frontastic component so you can now test the new schema as you wish.

  2. Once you're happy with your new Frontastic component schema, upload it to the Frontastic studio as usual.

  3. Delete the JSON file from the tasticSchemaOverwrites folder.

If you commit these files to production, it will overwrite the existing Frontastic componentFrontastic component - A customizable building block that's used together with other components to create a commerce site. Known as `tastic` for short in code. so make sure it's working (and Backwards Compatible) if you do this or it could break things for your team or your customers. Also, be sure to delete the file (step 5) or this will be used over your Frontastic studioFrontastic studio - The interface you use to manage, build, and edit all areas of your project and commerce sites. Previously known as `backstage`. version if it is committed.
