Creating anchor points
Did you know it's possible to set anchors in some components so your customers can jump from 1 point to another on a page? You can! Well, depending on the component configuration you can.
Every Frontastic component has an anchor ID in the General settings section of the component editor panel, for example:
You can use this ID in another Frontastic component to then be able to link to it.
If you don't have a link within your Frontastic component configuration or you don't want to use Markdown, this won't work.
So how do you do it? Firstly, navigate to the page you want to add your anchor point to and click the edit icon, then follow the steps below:
- Select the component that you want to jump to and copy the anchor ID in the General settings section
- Click the component that you want to jump from, in this example, we're using a Tile component so we'll go to the Call to Action section, select the type as Link then paste in the Anchor ID from step 1
- Preview your page to make sure it's all working correctly, then Save or Publish your page
If you want to add the Anchor point to some text within a Markdown Tastic, you can use the Anchor ID like you would a hyperlink, for example, [This is your Markdown copy](this is your Anchor ID).
